Wooden house with internal passage
Wooden house with internal passage

Wooden house in Japan. An interplay of lights, passages and openings

The artists of the Alts Design Office were commissioned to build a wooden house, with an internal passage, underlined by the use of a different flooring and by an opening that runs along the side of the entire facade

7 meters wide and 23 meters long, it was commissioned by a young couple who buy a plot of land for sale

The windows and openings were arranged in such a way that privacy could be preserved

The aligned beams characterize the passage, as well as the flooring, to the point of making the space inside seem like an extension of the external space

The beams create an interplay of light and shadow for all hours of the day, responsible for the succession of different feelings
