GO is a prototype designed by Studio Layer and includes two customized 3D molded elements, the seat and the foot housing. The shape is guided by the digital data derived from the biometric mapping of each user to adapt with precision
The goal is to put GO in the hands of as many users as possible to improve their quality of life. Layer listened to users' wishes and needs while consulting with medical professionals to convert those stories into insights that could be used to improve the project
The GO wheelchair is custom-built, lightweight and highly functional. It is designed to meet the individual needs of a wide range of disabilities and users and is a tool for improving quality of life. GO includes two 3D-moulded customized elements, the seat and foot housing, combined with a series of standard components
The shape of the customized elements is guided by digital data derived from the mapping of each user's biometric information and the resulting wheelchair adapts to body shape, weight and disability. Layer has also designed an App that allows users to participate in the design process by specifying their requirements
The GO wheelchair has super tactile push rims with a surface designed to lock into the GO glove system of the wheelchair, also designed by Layer, to offer a higher power-to-thrust ratio.
