Isumi Villa, the main wall transforms into a landscape

Immersed in a unique natural setting, Isumi Villa is an architectural project in Japan that redefines the concept of living, placing outdoor life at the center. With an imposing concrete wall and a spatial layout that encourages living with nature, this residence offers an experience that combines architecture and landscape in a harmonious dialogue.

Scenic backdrop that enhances the landscape

The architecture of Isumi Villa not only responds to internal functional needs, but also creates a strong connection with the external context. The Takeshi Hosaka Architects studio has designed a 45-meter-long concrete wall that defines the space and enhances a 2000 m² field. This structure is inspired by the river dam parallel to the banks of the Isumi River, whose bed extends to the site, creating a scenic backdrop that amplifies the perception of the landscape.

Interiors that communicate with the outside

The spaces are designed to ensure a constant connection with nature as in numerous architecture projects by the same studio. The kitchen with a beaten earth floor allows you to enter with shoes on, integrating the outside with the inside. The living room is designed to enjoy music and movies both inside and outside, while the bedroom evokes the atmosphere of a camping trip, offering an essential and immersive experience.

Recreational Garage

The garage stands out for its simple and linear design, becoming a versatile space for cars and creative activities. From here, you can access a separate bathroom and a sauna by crossing the biotope, reinforcing the concept of architecture in service of well-being and landscape enjoyment.

Living the landscape in every sense

The core of the project is not traditional domestic life, but the outdoor experience. The view of the sea waves and the Isumi River merge into a unique natural spectacle, where the villa's wall serves as a backdrop that amplifies emotions and suggestions. The vast surrounding field invites you to immerse yourself in biodiversity, observe and perceive nature with all five senses, until merging with it in a dynamic balance.
