Gardens of the Cloister SF: stone, nature, and memory

In the Jardines del Claustro SF, designed by 501 Durán Arquitectos, nature blends with historic architecture. Among intimate gardens and monumental spaces, the project reinvents the hacienda as a setting for unique events, suspended between spirituality, beauty, and conviviality.

How are Jardines del Claustro SF born?

Jardines del Claustro SF are born out of a necessity, during the pandemic, for outdoor spaces capable of safely accommodating guests without sacrificing beauty. Guanajuato, one of the most important event spaces in the city of León, is where the 501 Durán Arquitectos studio intervenes. For over fifteen years, the central patio of the hacienda has been the focal point of celebrations. With this new intervention, the outdoor projects of this already rich in tradition place become a bridge between memory and innovation, offering spaces that transform hospitality into a cultural and emotional experience.

Gardens that speak to the soul

The architectural-landscape program has generated two distinct spaces: the Mystical Garden and the Holistic Garden, designed for exclusive events for up to 150 guests. Next to them, the majestic Carlota Orchard is designed to accommodate up to 1300 people: a stage with a significant impact. In the center, a circular stone area becomes an ecumenical hub capable of connecting pathways and at the same time hosting symbolic ceremonies, especially weddings. The landscape configuration not only distributes the spaces but enriches their identity, intertwining nature and spirituality.

Paths and symbols of respect

To access the grand stage of Huerto de Carlota, one can pass through a sculpture composed of three ogival arches, a passage designed as a ritual gesture. The experience of entering becomes laden with meaning, with an invitation to slow down and yield the way to one's companion. Once this threshold is crossed, the visitor is greeted by an imposing garden of flowers, which frames the larger event area. The architecture, in this case, is not just functional, but a narrative act that celebrates the value of respect and sharing.

Stone and nature as living memory

The services blend into the context with a sober language, an essential volume of local stone that recalls the solidity of the territory. The entrances are defined by ogival arches adorned with climbing plants, evoking the idea of a suspended time, as if they had been there for centuries. This choice gives the spaces an authentic and timeless character, where nature intertwines with architecture, reinforcing the sensation of historical continuity. The Jardines del Claustro SF present themselves as places where tradition and contemporaneity meet, ready to host events that become shared memories.
