Villa in Sydney, walkway connecting living area and bedrooms

Link House, architecture is the interpenetration between internal and external spaces.

A villa designed for a family with children who want to live in the house with relatives and friends. Thus, the project of this residence is born where interior and exterior blend. Terraces with citrus trees, a pond, and a courtyard become its vital and aesthetic focus.

The brilliant separation of "linked" buildings for living and sleeping areas

Separating the living area from the sleeping area was one of the key features requested by the client: a young and busy family. The spaces were designed separately by the architect Renato D'Ettore, specialized in architectural projects that explore the spaces they are placed in. Link House in Sydney is thus formed by two separate buildings, connected on the ground floor by a glass ring overlooking a large fish pond.

The living area and the gardens

The living area is housed in a glass pavilion with a minimal structure. The pavilion has been designed surrounded by gardens and terraces. The inner courtyard is the key element of the architecture, it is also the aesthetic focus that helps reduce the perception of the mass of the buildings and allows light to enter the house.

The sleeping area and the surrounding nature

From the internal rooms, enticing views framed by these elements create a close sense of communion with the natural environment and the changing of seasons despite The inner courtyard has been designed as if it were an outdoor room.

The courtyard as a link between areas

The courtyard is shaded by a retractable awning, allowing it to be used in most seasons. This creates an important space for the family, where they can spend time together and welcome friends and relatives.

Inside and outside

The design of the house favors the creation of high-comfort spaces, rejecting excessive design elements and opulent finishes, the materials and finishes are bold and unadorned. The designers have tried to blur the boundary between inside and outside, while maintaining a strong sense of distinction between privacy and openness. The seamless transition between indoor and outdoor spaces gently leads the inhabitants of the house to experience the open spaces.

The garden terraces

There are two rooftop terraces, each with a different purpose. The main terrace features a sofa bed: a perfect platform to enjoy the view of the bay and the sky. The top-level garden terrace is a green oasis of fragrant citrus trees, vegetables, and aromatic herbs; a space that celebrates the beauty of the Mediterranean scrubland, sea, sun, air, and scents.
