O'Casella is a modular system of prefabricated wooden cabins that arises from the combination of two elements: the living module and the pergola

Designed by Atelier LAVIT, the O'Casella prefabricated wooden cabin can be transported fully assembled on a truck. The wood used for the exterior and structure is Corsican 'laricciu,' excellent for its durability, and also has a very interesting specific weight to maintain the lightness of the entire structure. Inside, the living module features walls and ceilings lined with MDF wood

Comprising the two elements of the living module and pergola, the first volume is designed to accommodate technical spaces such as services and kitchen, a living area, and a sleeping area with a framed view of the surrounding nature. The second volume, the pergola, is a ventilated and shaded element that offers an outdoor space equipped for contemplation, reading, and resting. An outdoor shower allows for complete immersion in the surrounding nature

The design of O'Casella is characterized by a distinctive mark on the facade, a steel guide that marks the horizontality of the entire volume. The track serves a dual purpose: as a rainwater gutter and also as a guide for the sliding of the mobile panel of the facade. This panel is conceived as a mashrabiya, traditionally used for capturing wind and for passive cooling, to protect the pergola and the interior spaces of the cabin from the sun, and to darken the room at night
