Relaxation among terraces, gardens, and renovated interiors of Casa Las Moras

Casa Las Moras, located in the State of Mexico, was involved in a project to create a family residence where the new owners could find pleasure and relaxation. The villa was completely transformed, both in its outdoor green spaces and in its internal distribution

The outdoor space as a main character

Given the region's pleasant climate throughout the year where Casa Las Moras is located, the López Duplan Arquitectos studio, which oversaw the new configuration, decided together with the clients to make the gardens and terraces of the house carefully designed living spaces in constant visual connection with the interiors. The new garden is enhanced by a covered terrace overlooking the central lake; this leads into a watercourse that crosses and irrigates the lush greenery

The architecture of the house: interiors and facades

The interiors of the villa have been profoundly transformed to adapt to new needs, just as the facades have been modified in shape, height, and colors. The communal areas have been reorganized to be situated near the entrance and, along with the service areas, are organically connected with the outdoors. The mood board of materials used is characterized by woods, stones, and leathers that give personality to each of the spaces

Spaces for welcoming guests and private paradise corners

In the living room and dining room, a wine cellar and a TV room have been added because hosting friends is one of the most important activities for the inhabitants of Casa Las Moras. Above the TV room, a terrace with a jacuzzi has been created to enjoy the spectacle of the surrounding nature from above. In the master bedroom, a small private paradise is created in the internal patio onto which the bathroom faces: an exclusive corner to enjoy the view, natural light, and the passing of the seasons
