Re.Te Project: a "second home" for young people in difficulty

A multifunctional center in Milan transforms design into care: the Re.Te Project is born to welcome young people in difficulty, offering spaces that combine aesthetics, social responsibility, and well-being, thanks to the creative vision of Lascia La Scia and a network of educational realities.

A design that puts young people at the center

In Milan, just a few steps from via Melchiorre Gioia, the Re.Te Center comes to life, an open and therapeutic place that rejects the clinical idea of therapy to embrace the relational and domestic dimension. The project is signed by the Milanese creative studio Lascia La Scia, active for years in the design of educational and social environments and in various interior design projects. In collaboration with Fondazione Reggio Children, Cesvi, Save the Children, and numerous municipal administrations, the goal is to create spaces that promote well-being, placing the individual at the center in every dimension. Supported by the Carolina Foundation, established in memory of Carolina Picchio, the center offers educational paths guided by the operators of Pepita, who have been committed for years to supporting the new generations.

Colors and shapes as tools for healing

The Re.Te Project was conceived as a true "second home", where young people can feel free to express themselves and move without judgment. The architects in the project placed great importance on color: shades of blue and light blue convey calm and serenity, while accents in mustard yellow and brick stimulate creativity and attention. The soft and continuous shapes create a harmonious visual flow between the spaces, promoting a sense of continuity and welcome. It's not just about aesthetics, but a conscious approach that recognizes the power of color and shapes in generating psychophysical well-being and in making the space a true tool for healing.

Flexible furnishings and transformable spaces

The main space of the center is designed as a large open space, meant to be flexible and adaptable to different needs. The furnishings are designed to stimulate different interactions: chairs for formal discussions, soft bean bag chairs for comfortable relaxation, rolling tables that can be used as dividers to create dedicated subspaces. The large windows overlooking the tree-filled communal courtyard feature wooden benches, small resting areas that enhance natural light and views of the greenery. These elements, inspired by biophilic design, strengthen the connection with nature and promote balance and concentration.

A vision of social responsibility

For Lascia La Scia, contributing to the Re.Te Project has been much more than designing a space: it has been a civil and social act. The designers emphasize how design is not just about aesthetics or functionality, but also about responsibility. A well-thought-out environment becomes a tool for care, capable of improving quality of life and making people feel welcomed. The center concretely demonstrates how architecture, education, and social sensitivity can merge, creating places that not only host but transform. Re.Te is therefore a vision: care starts from the environment, the colors, the light, and the feeling of truly being at home.
