On the shores of one of the world's largest salt lakes, in the state of Kyrgyzstan, the Issik Kul Lake Resort hosts a hotel, independent villas, restaurant, and indoor pool, under its soft lines

A soft form inspired by and integrated into the landscape

One of the architectural projects intended for the touristic expansion of the area around the mountain salt lake, the Issik Kul Lake Resort by UPA presents itself with a soft and organic form that is inspired by and integrated into the natural landscape in which it is immersed. The lines start curved already in the floor plan and become three-dimensional to create the volume of the building

The resort program

The resort program consists of a 100-room hotel, 15 independent villas, and the restaurant that are organized in the area closest to the beach. In the rear area, there are service buildings for the staff. The curved structures that outline the resort are solid and full, while the closing facades are characterized by the transparency of glass. Typical decorations of Central Asia are screen-printed on glass and panels

Facades and architectural composition

From the north facade, access is gained to the hall, protected and marked by the entrance canopy. On this side, the corridors that distribute the hotel rooms open up, and the pattern of panels and decorated glass is interrupted by two white, slender volumes that house the vertical distribution system. Towards the lake, the composition of the facade is defined by the private terraces of the rooms. The restaurant and the indoor pool are housed in two volumes that connect to the ground and offer large windows overlooking the park
