Mirror spaces between light and nature in Puerto Cancún

In one of the most exclusive neighborhoods of Cancun, two twin houses blend in with the surrounding landscape. Two mirror-image single-family residences rise on two separate lots within Puerto Cancun, one of the largest and most ambitious real estate developments in the Mexican city. Designed for investment purposes, the houses were conceived to maximize the characteristics of each plot of land while maintaining a consistent and functional design. The three-level layout allows for optimal use of the available space, while adhering to the architectural parameters of the Laguna 1 residential area.

Open and convivial spaces on the ground floor

The ground floor is dedicated to public areas: a spacious living area welcomes the living room and dining room, directly connected to the kitchen and the back terrace. The outdoor spaces feature a barbecue area and a private pool, creating an ideal environment for socializing and relaxation. Completing the level are parking spaces for two cars and a seamless continuity between indoor and outdoor spaces, the true heart of the project.

Panoramic terrace to experience the outdoors

The upper level hosts a relaxation area with a TV room, a panoramic terrace, as well as the laundry room and service area. Here, a dark grey painted metal pergola takes center stage, providing shade and character to the environment. The outdoor spaces, paved in grey porcelain tiles, enhance the dialogue between architecture and landscape.

Comfort and privacy in the sleeping area

Upstairs are the bedrooms, designed to ensure privacy and comfort. Two of the rooms have a private bathroom and a built-in wardrobe, while the master bedroom offers an en suite bathroom, walk-in closet, and a private terrace. Each space is designed to provide natural light and pleasant views, enhancing the mild climate of the Riviera Maya. These interventions represent examples of residential architecture projects focused on well-being and quality of spaces.

Local Materials and Neutral Colors

The project, curated by ARCO Arquitectura Contemporánea, respects the aesthetic guidelines of the neighborhood, with sober facades in cement-sand stucco and cladding in natural stone or porcelain in shades of gray and sand.
The interiors stand out for the use of Veracruz travertine marble in the floors and light finishes on the walls. The carpentry is made with natural walnut wood, while the dark gray aluminum windows frame the large openings. The kitchen, meticulously designed, combines surfaces in absolute black granite with white MDF furniture, completing a project that combines elegance and functionality.
