In north-central Switzerland, the house for two families in Lucerne integrates into the fragmented urban context, where buildings alternate with open spaces, redefining the proportions between adjacent buildings: a 5-story house to the west and a 2-story house to the east. With its gabled roof, this project establishes the continuity of the suburban landscape
On the opposite side, the building has a more enclosed appearance to provide intimacy for the sleeping area. Space flows between this light-filled structure and its rigid appearance, softened by playful openings
The house is elevated from the ground floor in which the garage is housed; the apartments on the upper floors are accessible by staircase and elevator. The materiality of the house reinforces the concept of the upper volume floating above the terrace
