Gaku is a frame, which consists of lamps and other objects, which almost creates an uncertainty whether they are accessories or furniture. The heart of the project lies in a height-adjustable suspension lamp that fits inside a frame, while a second object has a non-contact recharge function, to power a corresponding point or a luminescent lamp
A magnetic frame like a miniature room. Light as a furnishing element
The Japanese designer nendo designs a collection of lamps for Flos with the emblematic name "gaku", which means frame, as is its design, simple minimalist, whose complexity lies in the high versatility of the object
The directional lamp is equipped with a magnet that allows it to be tilted, making it easier to adjust the direction of the point to be illuminated. Usually, the lamp is left on the charging base and moved freely when lighting is needed elsewhere
The lamp settings include the mode in which it can be turned on when stationary on the charging station and turned off when moved, so that the position of the light itself serves as a power switch
Bowls, vases, a tray, a mirror, bookends and other accessories complete the collection and are held in place by magnets that hold them firmly in place without the need for a large contact area. An assortment of accessories and lights is combining this "frame" object as if the interior of a miniature room was being randomly rearranged
