Corporate identity told through the design of the new Vention offices

A corporate office design strongly inspired in its entirety by Vention's signature products and exceptional corporate culture

Vention is a steadily growing Montreal-based technology company that developed a custom aluminum extrusion system and soon expressed a need for more office accommodation. The company decided to transform its 14,000-square-foot Saint-Henri district warehouses into a work space, commissioning the design from Ivy Studio architects

From the beginning, the design intent was to create a simple environment that proposed the identity of the company and its product. The aesthetics of the pieces, their perforations and their distinctive "Vention blue" color were determining factors in conceiving the new space.
The new offices are located in two formally and functionally distinct areas of the same industrial building; of which all walls, ceilings, structural and mechanical systems were painted entirely white; the existing concrete floor was covered with an epoxy coating of the same color. Most of the new offices are open spaces furnished with white furniture

In the center of this neutral backdrop are blue monoliths covered with perforated sheet metal, mimicking the large machines on Vention's assembly line. These objects house all the enclosed team spaces such as conference rooms, informal brainstorming rooms, etc. Inside, the entire palette of materials brings back the "Vention blue," from the carpet to the wall paint. A series of glass windows give breath to these spaces, making them more comfortable for longer periods

In several areas of Vention's new office space, neon lights are hidden behind perforated steel sheets, creating unique images and emphasizing some of the project's characteristic elements. At the entrance, for example, lights are arranged behind the central desk, made from specially made white extrusions. In the kitchen, an internally lit structure overlooks the island and serves as a division between functional and gathering areas

All tables were custom designed in collaboration with the Vention team using their blue aluminum extrusions. The tops are made of navy blue smoked glass panels in order to hint at the unique structures which support them.  The specific assembly techniques of Vention's extrusion were used to create furniture pieces that strongly represent the company's identity. The project in its entirety was strongly inspired by Vention's signature products and exceptional corporate culture
