The protagonists of Abaton's Project CH are the public areas of the living room and the kitchen, from which there are hidden entrances leading to more private areas.
Because of the lifestyle of the family for whom the villa was designed, Spanish studio Abaton made the kitchen the focus of the project, around which the other rooms rotate, and decided to open up the house towards the south to increase the brightness of the spaces and to allow people to enjoy the garden
Progetto CH, a private residence intertwined with cosy interiors and verdant outdoor spaces
Between exposed concrete partitions and walls made of structural wood, in Project CH, 750 square metres of private residences become large, welcoming spaces with a family atmosphere in constant contact with nature
The home is created by the intersection of two exposed cement structural walls: one leads from the entrance, creating an outdoor pathway between the wall itself and a road lined with cypress trees; the other separates the kitchen from the living room and overlooks the outdoor portico. From these two walls the home is generated, forming different volumes and creating a central courtyard with a strong presence which permits sequence effects between the interior and exterior
The construction system chosen by Abaton is based on a solid wood structure prefabricated according to specifications with numerically controlled machines. The 12 cm thick structural walls thus created have the advantage of large spans without interruptions in the pillars and their perfect assembly guarantees very high energy performance. At the same time, the visible structural wood inside the house contributes to a cosy and human feeling
