House K2 is a combination of traditional building methods with modern living comfort amidst the breathtaking landscapes where, surrounded by forests and meadows, it offers an ideal retreat in between the mountains

The basic design concept of the Monovolume is a contemporary  interpretation of traditional South Tyrolean architecture. The monumental roof covers the apartment below and creates a feeling of coziness and security. Cleverly placed dormers frame the spectacular Dolomites and bring the mountains inside the K2 House

Inside the dwelling, the star is the staircase, self-supporting in a U-shape, which with its bulk deliberately contrasts with the slender staircase providing access to the outside. Between the living room and dining room, positioned in the middle is a multifunctional piece of furniture that incorporates the tile-covered fireplace in a reinterpretation of the traditional architecture of old South Tyrolean farms

The use of local materials and craftsmanship gives the building additional authenticity and longevity. Light colors and materials in the interior, which enhance coziness, contrast with the darker, more subdued materials of the outdoor areas. Purposeful lighting emphasizes and showcases the monumentality of the roof
