Casa Cas 8 is an apartment on the top floor of a historic building in the extension area of Valencia, in the Ruzafa neighborhood.
Small changes in the layout, very limited by the idea of keeping the entire original floor of the house and the ceilings with moldings, is guiding DG Arquitecto Valencia in the transformation of the whole space

Preserving the original character of the house by adapting it to a more current lifestyle was the main objective of the architectural intervention for the renovation of Casa Cas 8
The intervention of the team of DG Arquitecto Valencia leads to the creation of a large living area where the kitchen is integrated into the living-dining room environment.The other areas, the three bedrooms, two bathrooms and the terrace are maintained as in the original distribution.
The three original elements of the house that are preserved, the colored mosaic floor, the moldings and doors, are the great protagonists of the intervention
A new material coexists with these three original elements, the wood: this natural material provides both warmth and uniformity to the transformation that affects Casa Cas 8. Natural oak wood is used for the kitchen, the floor and the walk-in closet of the master bedroom and for the transition elements between the bedrooms and the terrace. These transitional elements are designed as small spaces where to perform daily activities such as reading, resting, and even working from home, since there is a small desk incorporated in one of them
