House in a Slovenian alpine village. Traditional design with pure and essential lines

In Stara Fužina, an old protected alpine village in Slovenia's Triglav National Park, Skupaj arhitekti studio designs a home that focuses on tradition and reinterprets characteristic local details to capture spectacular views

The home erected on the site of a former car repair shop is perfectly oriented, with the ridge of the roof rotated 90 degrees from the original building. The building stretches rectangularly towards the steep hillside in order to make the most of the sun's rays and the spectacular views

The floor plan of the house is small but well exploited and adaptable to meet the changing needs of the residents in the future. The west wing of the ground floor houses a self-contained rental apartment which can be converted into a bedroom. In general, the house can accommodate one to four occupants

Thanks to this project, new materials and modern construction details have been introduced into a rural space steeped in tradition. In spite of a number of very modern design choices, such as pure lines, decorative use of wood, large glass surfaces or exposed concrete inside the house, the designers did not forget the reference to the tradition of the place
