The new residential building with a distinctly modern character fits into the agricultural landscape among the hills just a short distance from the historic center of Bassano del Grappa, a municipality in the foothills of the Veneto region

The country house, designed by Architetto Dario Scanavacca, consists of two single-pitch volumes and a swimming pool that, arranged in a "U" shape, generate the private courtyard elevated from the country floor from which views of the surrounding landscape can be enjoyed

The two volumes are separated from each other by a flat roof element that gives them formal unity and are developed on two slightly staggered floors, accommodating in the north volume the living area and in the west volume the sleeping area

The prevailing orientation of the building faces southeast, opening toward the landscape with the large window in the living area, which allows continuity between interior and exterior, strengthening the building's link with the garden

The north and west fronts, with a more introspective character, have punctual small windows placed at different heights to allow natural lighting of the rooms, while still providing privacy from the street and protecting the dwelling from the prevailing winds to the north and from overheating in summer to the west
