Wooden house near the river. Construction with a traditional character

The architecture studio FRAM Arquitectos designs a house close to the Luján River, an area characterized by plains and ponds, with traditional architecture deeply related to the environment in which it is located

The house is located in DiqueLuján, a small town in the province of Buenos Aires, located in the area between the Luján River and the Villanueva Canal. It is a city characterized by plains surrounded by large expanses of water, thanks to which abundant tropical vegetation develops

The house is perfectly related to its environment, both horizontally, respecting and incorporating the existing vegetation and vertically, designing the floor level above the flood level. This last characteristic is typical of the traditional buildings of the place, which dissociates the plan of living from that of natural expansion

The house is longitudinally positioned on the south side. The service rooms are located on the south side, the main one on the opposite side with an advantage. Three patios contrast the continuity of the roof. The larger patio is symbolized by the staircase that creates an additional connection with the outdoor space

The facade of the house reflects the architectural character of the area. The house is raised from the ground through reinforced concrete beams supported by trees. A series of structural frames delimit the interior and exterior spaces, with both load-bearing and spatial functions
