An interdisciplinary and multicultural approach

Founded in 2006 by Lyndon Neri and Rossana Hu, neri&hu architects is an interdisciplinary architecture studio based in Shanghai with a growing international portfolio. Their projects range from urban planning to architecture, from interior design to graphic design and product design, and even art installations. The studio stands out for its multicultural team, composed of professionals who speak over 30 languages and who nurture a design vision aimed at addressing global challenges. The overlap of different creative disciplines is at the core of Neri&Hu's philosophy, aiming to define a new paradigm in contemporary architecture.

A context-driven and research-based vision

The choice of Shanghai as their operational base reflects neri&hu architects's intention to position themselves in a dynamic urban context, rich in cultural and historical contrasts. This strategic location becomes the starting point for design investigations that span multiple scales, always with a strong connection to the context. The studio has expanded the traditional boundaries of architecture by integrating complementary disciplines and promoting a constant critical reflection on the program, function, and memory of places. Neri&Hu's approach is based on a lively interaction between materials, light, form, and detail, rejecting predefined stylistic patterns. This spirit has led the studio to receive numerous international recognitions in the fields of architecture, interior design, and graphic design.
