A Villa on the lake in Eupilio: beauty and energy efficiency

The Villa on the lake in Eupilio is a building born from the desire for deep integration with the territory, understood both as nature and culture. The result is a residence with a contemporary, organic, and high-quality aesthetic, with very high energy efficiency strongly connected to the natural context of great beauty

Respect for the context and reworking of local architecture

One of the most recent architecture projects by the De Martin architect studio, the Villa on the Lake in Eupilio will arise following the demolition of existing residential buildings. The guiding principle of the project is that of respect for the existing context, therefore the elevations and accesses to the plot will not be modified, and the new wooden villa will blend in with the landscape. Its aesthetics, consisting of a base in stone and the upper level in wood, reworks the concepts of local rural architecture. The infinity pool appears as a "natural" water mirror thanks to materials that eliminate the "blue effect"

The composition and program of the villa

The villa has an irregular shape dictated by its integration into the landscape, among existing trees, projected towards glimpses of the lake. The ground floor offers generous glass openings towards the garden and houses, in addition to the kitchen, the study and services, a double-height living area from which, through the staircase open to the living room, you access the upper level. Here, four large bedrooms, each with a private bathroom, overlook the cantilevered wooden loggia that runs along the entire volume framing the landscape view. The basement houses a garage for 7 cars and technical rooms

Construction technologies and materials

The chosen construction technologies focus on ecology and sustainability: the building falls under the Gold Class of the Casa Clima certification. The basement will be built with a reinforced concrete structure, while for the upper levels a mixed system of solid and lightweight wood will be used with frame walls, also made of wood and fiberglass sheets, and laminated wood floors used for the roof. Great attention is given to the thermal insulation made, depending on the areas, of extruded polystyrene or wood fiber and cork, and to the acoustic insulation between rooms and between different floors. The interior finishes will be characterized by visible wood and clay plaster
