Casa Moro: nature and emptiness compose the form of space

In Barrancas de San Benito, Mar del Plata, in the province of Buenos Aires, an architecture that is at times mimetic with nature, at times ethereal and floating, wraps around the "void" that existed before it. Casa Moro intertwines with its lush natural surroundings, offering its inhabitants exceptional spaces

Celebration of nature and exaltation of the "void"

Casa Moro, one of TAM's architectural projects for 2024, speaks first of all about the celebration of a nature that generously welcomes us as guests; it also speaks about the empty space, which also exists prior to architecture, which conforms to it by taking and exalting its qualities. A "void" that was found between the waves of the terrain and the branches of the trees

A wavy mantle of concrete

This is how Casa Moro is born, with its wavy mantle of concrete that becomes both a roof and an extension of the existing garden, canceling out the impact of the architectural mass on the existing void, as well as its footprint. Below this slab, the house develops in a plant that is almost free, governed by an amoeboid wooden volume that defines the spaces. At this level, an internal courtyard enchants with its foliage, hidden from the view of passersby

The reflective glass solid of the guest house

The volume of Casa Moro is completed with the guest house: a reflective glass solid that floats in the void and multiplies nature. Suspended in the air, a living room, bedroom, a bathroom, and a small kitchen make up an almost independent house from which you have a completely different perspective, giving the feeling of being in the trees
