A project that evokes history
The building that houses De Witt has a fascinating history, having served as a convent, school, and laboratory before becoming a cinema. Studio Modijefsky has been able to integrate these historical layers into the design, creating a timeless visual language. The cloisters, nun's habits, and attire are referenced in the architectural and decorative elements. The tiles, classroom windows, and notice boards evoke the school era, while the chemistry sets and protective screens recall the period when the building was a laboratory.
