House with a large porch, a refuge of light in the Venetian landscape

Immersed in the countryside of Padua, House with a large porch is a project by MIDE architects that interprets contemporary living between light, nature, and comfort. A linear volume that blends with the landscape, where the architecture opens up to the greenery with elegance and restraint.

An architecture that interacts with the landscape

The House with a large porch, designed by MIDE architects, was born from the desire to create a space that enhances the relationship between architecture and nature. Set in a green and quiet context, the house is developed on a single level, ensuring a perfect integration with the terrain. From the early stages, the architecture projects were guided by the clients' request to live in the house in symbiosis with the surrounding park, through large windows and fluid spaces. The result is a house that breathes with the landscape, capable of offering comfort and visual well-being thanks to careful exposure and the skillful use of natural light.

Open-space and porch: continuity between interior and exterior

The beating heart of the project is represented by the living area, designed as a large open-space that includes the kitchen, living room, and dining room in a single barrier-free environment. This space opens completely towards the south, thanks to large windows that transform the house into a "container of light," promoting a strong visual connection with the outside. The porch, a distinctive element of the residence, runs along the main sides of the building and offers a smooth transition between indoors and outdoors, allowing the open spaces to be enjoyed in every season. This architectural filter amplifies the perception of continuity and makes daily use of the garden possible.

Light, vegetation, and intimacy: the role of the sleeping area

In contrast to the openness of the living area, the sleeping area is conceived as a private and protected refuge. The openings, measured and well-oriented, allow a dialogue with the garden but filter the view, ensuring privacy and tranquility. An important role is played by the light wells set into the porch, true architectural devices that welcome plants and vegetation, strengthening the connection with nature. These elements not only decorate but create an organic connection between built space and landscape, transforming the residence into an immersive and dynamic place.

Simple Materials for a Timeless Aesthetic

The house stands out for its choice of essential yet refined materials: glass, wood, and pigmented concrete. Glass dominates the living area, enhancing the brightness of the spaces; wood, used in details and fixed furnishings, provides warmth and tactility; the reddish concrete, on the other hand, recalls the natural tones of the landscape and creates a harmonious contrast with the surrounding greenery. Visually connecting the spaces is the Venetian terrazzo flooring, which with its uniform texture adds elegance and luminosity. The overall result is a balanced aesthetic, where each material contributes to defining a welcoming and contemporary atmosphere.
