Tirana Vet Hospital: living sculpture for life

The Tirana Vet Hospital is a seed of new architecture in Albania, which respects its deep traditions by enriching the built landscape qualitatively. It is an architecture designed to instill emotion, well-being, and growth in those who encounter it

Significant places resonating with life, culture, and nature

“Architecture is the most complete form of art. It is the art of drawing meaningful lines that, once transformed into walls and openings, reveal the joys, passions, and intentions of the architect. It's not just about building structures: it's about creating significant places that resonate with life, culture, and nature.” This is the concept of Davide Macullo Architects studio that imbues its architecture projects with “joy, talent, and a deep understanding of the psychology of space.”

Brutalist concrete waves that dissolve fear

The Veterinary Hospital of Tirana is a sculptural flow of brutalist concrete waves that makes the medical function unrecognizable and transforms it into a real place, to be felt, marvelled at, experienced in its forms and in the care it offers. It is designed for its patients, the animals, to dissolve the fear: of the cage, of humans, of other animals

A healthcare space that communicates movement, life, aesthetics

A "liberating" space from shapes that do not dominate nature, but arise from it like soft and undulating crystals. The harmony perceived at the sight of the Hospital makes it initially incomprehensible that it is a healthcare facility: it communicates movement, life, aesthetics

The therapeutic spaces of the Veterinary Hospital

The project is organized around the psychological well-being of animals: a sense of security and comfort, as for human beings, are fundamental in the healing process and are guaranteed here by the space that contains them. Thus, the gardens and terraces are therapeutic spaces that offer contact with nature and, indoors, there are specially designed spaces for cohabitation or separation between antagonistic species
