Outdoor
In this section of Arkitectureonweb you will find a selection of projects from all over the world concerning outdoor architecture. This branch of architecture deals with the planning, design and management of open spaces and the landscape, at different scales of intervention.
What is the Landscape? According to the definition of the European Convention, the Landscape indicates a certain part of the territory, as perceived by the populations, whose character derives from the action of natural and / or human factors and their interrelations. The landscape architect is the one who plans and designs urban and rural landscapes in space and time, based on the natural characteristics and historical and cultural values of the area.
Outdoor and exterior architecture encompasses a wide range of designs and styles, from traditional to modern, classic to contemporary. The materials used in exterior architecture, such as stone, metal, glass, and wood, often reflect regional identities and play an important role in defining a building's overall aesthetic. Elements such as windows, doors, balconies, gables, cornices, columns and arches are often used to add visual interest and provide an inviting entryway.
Outdoor lighting can also be incorporated into the design to illuminate pathways or accentuate architectural details. When considering exterior architecture for a project, it is important to consider local climatic conditions and contextual features, such as nearby buildings or natural features. Ultimately, the exterior architecture must create a sense of place that is comfortable for visitors and enhances the surrounding landscape.
This practice combines site planning, architecture, art and environmental restoration to help connect an area to surrounding buildings and make the landscape attractive in itself. The goal of landscape architecture is to create pleasant, functional and beautiful spaces that meet the needs of their owners or the public.
