New entrance for a school. Brick and glass provide a new stylistic identity for existing buildings - RenovationOnWeb

For years, BZAEDS School and Anshe Emet Synagogue have shared a small, inconspicuous entrance and from this original situation came the need for the principals to provide an addition to the school. An addition that expresses the school's unique identity by creating an identifiable and welcoming entrance for students

The building made of brick and glass puts daylight and visual connection with the spaces and exteriors at the center of the project and also gives a new stylistic and architectural identity to the existing buildings constructed over time and in a variety of styles. In addition to experiencing the interior, all the occupants can walk in a natural space made of boulders, trees and wood emphasizing a connection with the surrounding nature

The new entrance for BZAEDS attracts its visitors and students through a welcoming, light-filled plaza. Directly beyond the vestibule, you can see the hustle and bustle of activities going on throughout the day: students climbing the stairs to the classrooms where they will attend their lectures and playing in the outdoor field and administrators and staff heading to their meetings in the conference room

Great attention was also paid to sustainability; the building's small footprint and cubic volume minimize the enclosure area while keeping heat loss to a minimum. In addition, a solar panel generates power for the building, a permeable flooring system throughout helps manage water usage on the site and overhangs on the large windows screen the sun on the ground floor
