Villa O: a circular sculpture between lake and nature

Suspended between architecture and landscape, Villa O redefines living with a circular shape that opens up in all directions. The house blends with the natural environment through internal courtyards, panoramic views, and a layout that transforms the domestic space into a sensory experience.

An organic volume embracing the landscape

Villa O, designed by YCL studio, is located on a large plot overlooking the lake, positioned at the highest point to dominate the panorama. With its 237 m², it stands out as a sculptural architecture: a pure circle that opens up to the four cardinal directions. Instead of conventional forms, here an organic language comes to life that responds to the surrounding environment, allowing nature to become an integral part of the project.

Internal courtyards as conceptual elements

Four semi-buried courtyards punctuate the geometry of the villa. Not just breathing spaces, but true architectural devices that maintain the purity of the circular form, frame glimpses of the landscape, and bring light and nature inside. These hidden gardens transform the relationship between interior and exterior, dissolving boundaries and making the dwelling an immersive and dynamic place.

A cross-shaped plant to live in the light

At the center of the composition, a cross-shaped space opens up, dividing the circle into four segments. Two host the bedrooms, one welcomes the guest area, and the other transforms into an intimate and quiet spa. In the heart of the house, a fluid and luminous environment develops, uniting the entrance, kitchen, dining room, and living room. Each arm of the cross offers a different perspective: the access, the forest, the open landscape, and the lake. It is here that Villa O shows how architectural projects can become true life experiences.

Concreteness and lightness in balance

A slightly inclined concrete wall crosses the spaces, introducing a sculptural tension that enhances the perception of spaciousness. The external silhouette, composed of thermowood and concrete, interacts with the natural environment through contrast, emphasizing both the simplicity and harmony of the form. The cardinal orientation ensures light in every room and transforms the villa into a transparent and vital refuge, capable of blending design clarity and residential poetry.
