The design of the Finnish Design Shop's corporate headquarters was quite complex for the AVANTO studio. The large building was formed designed according to the requirements of an automated warehouse, and there was no possibility of articulating the building with volumetrics or various roof shapes

Finnish Design Shop's new corporate headquarters building includes a logistics center that delivers products to more than a hundred countries, as well to a showroom and a restaurant: a success story in which pandemic played a key role, due to the forced closure of physical stores
The client wanted the building to represent the company's values: high quality design and ease of approach. Finnish Design Shop's design was inspired by the nearby forest, which is visible in the facades through a vertical three-dimensional pattern that reminds us of tree trunks in the surrounding forest
The building's large windows offer an unobstructed view of the surrounding forest. The facade is made of concrete sandwich elements. The relief in the facade, although only 15 millimeters deep, changes depending on the angle of the sun, making the pattern deeper and more three-dimensional
The building was the first BREEAM Excellent (the second highest level) certified logistics building in Finland. This ambitious goal was achieved with the help of a life cycle assessment expert. The energy needed in the building is produced by geothermal heat fed by electricity from solar panels, and sustainability measures were taken care of in all design solutions and construction works
