The House in Shukugawa is situated on a compact flag-shaped lot, nestled in the tranquil setting of Nishinomiya, in Hyogo prefecture. This house is located in a historic and charming residential area, adjacent to the Shukugawa River, famous for its spectacular cherry blossoms. However, the high population density and small lots typical of this area necessitated designing a house that would be a cozy retreat and separate from the surrounding buildings, thus creating an independent world.

The intervention concerned the building redevelopment of a property located in the Municipality of Battipaglia, in the province of Salerno, under the extraordinary regulations of the Campania Region - Housing Plan. The operation involved the demolition of the previous building, consisting of three above-ground levels, and the subsequent reconstruction with an increase in volume, creating a modern building that houses 12 residential units of various sizes, two commercial premises, and 9 underground parking spaces.

Villa Z stands out in the urban fabric where it is located, characterized mainly by mono and multi-family buildings from the 80s and 90s: the essential and minimalist design characterized by the interpenetration of geometric solids introduces a new architectural language to the context.

The project of transforming two adjacent commercial premises into a multi-specialty medical clinic presented a design challenge on two main levels.
