Street Art and installations

A section dedicated to two forms of art present more and more often in cities around the world. Installations are a typically three-dimensional work of art that can include media, design objects and expressive forms of any kind installed in a given environment. Street art, on the other hand, is a particular form of expression of modern art that occurs exclusively in public places, using a variety of techniques including: spray cans, stencils, acrylic colors with brushes, etc.

Street art and installations are two distinct forms of visual expression that have grown dramatically in recent decades.

Street art is a form of artistic expression that is mostly performed on public walls, buildings and other surfaces. It typically consists of wall paintings, stencil graffiti, sticker art, sculptures, and more. What's interesting about this is the way it interacts with its surroundings; it constantly changes according to its environment which keeps it alive and relevant while providing endless opportunities for contemplation when strolling the city streets.

Installations are temporary or permanent works of art that are placed in a specific location and cannot be moved to another location. They are often made from recycled materials or found objects and can take the form of sculptures, interactive works, performance and sound pieces. Installations can be created ad hoc, in the sense that they have been created for a particular place or context and interact with their environment in an immersive way. Artists often use their physical surroundings as part of their artwork, making them truly unique experiences for viewers who interact with them in person; features such as interactive lighting or sound provide additional layers that complete the work by giving it an even deeper meaning than what is visible at first glance. Finally, the installations often represent a visual dialogue between artist and viewer; giving us the chance to explore our emotions without needing explanations.

Both street art and installations have become increasingly popular ways for artists to express themselves on an urban level using public spaces as a canvas. Through these creative interventions they communicate social messages to their audience. From abstract murals to thought-provoking installations, these works have the potential to capture the attention of passers-by who stop to admire its beauty or ponder its meaning.
